In 2024, Marie Bashir Public School celebrated it's 10 year anniversary with a weeklong special celebration including the Art Show.
The specialist art program continues in 2025 due to a grant secured from Club Burwood. A resident artist, Mr Howard Matthew teaches art K-6. Students are involved in art appreciation, and using a variety of media to create artworks.
About Mr Howard Matthew (Resident Artist, Marie Bashir Public School):
Howard Matthew is a professional multimedia artist who works with film, sculpture, photography, drawing and performance. His work has been shown internationally and has more than 20 years practice.
Howard has worked in a broad range of contexts, including early years education and with adults who have intellectual and physical disabilities. He has also taught in universities and worked widely in community and outreach programs.
