Celebrating 10 years of MBPS

In 2024, Marie Bashir Public School celebrated it's 10 year anniversary with a week long special celebration including an art show.

The specialist art program continues in 2025 due to a grant secured from Club Burwood. Our artist in residence, Mr Howard Matthew teaches art K-6. Students are involved in art appreciation, and using a variety of media to create artworks.

Meet our resident artist Mr Howard Matthew

Howard Matthew is a professional multimedia artist who works with film, sculpture, photography, drawing and performance. His work has been shown internationally and has more than 20 years practice.

Howard has worked in a broad range of contexts, including early years education and with adults who have intellectual and physical disabilities.

He has also taught in universities and worked widely in community and outreach programs.
